The Firmware Page

Anyone have a firmware update for my SONY CRX830E CD DRIVE or know where I can find one. I have a Compaq Presario 2100 and I searched all over the net and can only find an update for Sony Vaio systems or Dell systems not my Presario. Please help!

Also, this is no CD-ROM, therefore this thre gets moved anyway...

Sorry about posting in wrong place, I forgot to mention my CD Drive is playing all music cd's and data cd's fine but it wont read DVD movies or DVD-ROM games In the past it played them. I was hoping a firmware update would fix this but if not Is there anything else I can do to fix this problem. Thanks again.

Some people seem to think firmware updates can sometimes help disc reading problems well thats what I found searching online , why it will read data and not dvd-roms is the confusing part.

Not correct, you already told us that CDs work but DVDs not.
That are 2 different things because such drives have usually 2 lenses, one for CD media and one for DVD.

Not unlikely that the dvd part went dead........
In that case no firmware, software or similar can help.
