Are there any newer RPC1 firmware versions available other than X008 by XVI? Because that X008 is not 100% correct...I think... What's wrong with current one? = speed settings are wrong. Al programs, including Nero Drive speed are reporting that maximum speed for both audio and data (?!) is 17x (?!). There should be some 20x to 40x option but none is available. Only 1,4,8,16,17. That can't be right...right?

I don't think that comes from the patched firmware. CDDA extraction speeds are ALWAYS lower than the maximum CD-ROM reading speed (which btw is theoretical), because extracting audio is much more demanding from the hardware. One of the differences is that there is no checksum at the end of an audio block (apart from the error correction mechanism) while there is one at the end of a CD-ROM data block This is why manufacturers do not boost the CDDA extraction speed because then the audio data might not be accurate... "a 17x CDDA ripping speed should be enough for everyone" (like 640 KB of memory is... )

Yes, I know. But I'm talking about DATA also.. You can select only 17x as maximum. And yes, I know by the sound that drive is making that it really reads at *true* maximum, that is at 40x but selection is offering only 17x. It's more of a cosmetic issue and as I said - I'm not really sure if it's a bug.
