Hi all,

I think i need some of your help..

Computer: Laptop
Manufacturer: Fujitsu-Siemens

I have tried the following firmware, but it is not working i.e. its not detecting the drive when i launch the utility: http://121ware.com/psp/PA121/121ETC2/CR ... modId=5582

I believe this is because i have a pure LG drive and not a NEC branded one? Is there any other way of updating the firmware? I would like to make it RPC1 and increase the drive's ripping speed i.e. remove the riplock. I think i can do this with MCSE, but i just need an original firmware?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have actually tried the firmware you posted but it doesn't detect my drive. Does that mean i'm out of luck? Is there perhaps a way to extract the existing firmware off the drive?

I may try removing the drive and reconnecting it via usb to see if that makes a difference. :)

if MCSE will not allow the flashing, then for now, there isn't much you can do

Hi,

I haven't even got onto MCSE yet. Its just that the DriveUpdater utility doesn't even detect the drive - perhaps bad ASPI layer files?

it won't if you don't have the same oem drive as the flasher
