===================================================

I know that this is cheap media but had no choice because I needed some quickly.
I burned on Asus DRW-2014L1
After burning, I noticed that the dye had different uneven shades of purple and a few dark dots.
The DVD plays fine on all my 4 DVD deck players but still wondered why has the burn produced such variations in the dye colour. :?

Because the drive has its write strategies for all different media.

Check out the writing secrets: CAV versus CLV. :)

Thanks for your reply. So I take it that the difference in the dye colour over the burned surface is normal for that type of brand. This has appeared to a large extent on one DVD which I have burned while multi tasking.

Then it has to do with caching and buffering and therefore write strategy and write speed changing because of heavy tasking and cpu usage during the burn...
