Guys,
This might sound trivial to most of you, but I find this tiny Freeware utility really useful from Steve Gibson (grc.com).
I won't bore you with the details (visit the URL link below), but, in essence, if you have one of those 'strong and silent type' keyboards (usually
a Laptop/Notebook), then this might be for you...
Go here:
https://www.grc.com/freeware/clickey.htmFrankly, I am amazed at the amount of detail that Steve offers (not to mention all of its 'hidden' functionality')
When you run the (tiny) download, it will create the following:
A 42KB EXE and a 10KB DLL!!!!
I think it was written pre Vista, but that's what I'm using it on now (on a Notebook).
The best click (sound for me) was to fire-up ClicKey.EXE, then hit the 'D' key, then take the 'Set' option (gives you an original Typewriter
sound keyboard) but there are many options (26 sounds) for you to choose from.
To remove ClicKey from memory, again, run ClicKey.EXE and take the 'Remove' option.
Have fun
