Guys,

"IE PassView is a small utility that reveals the passwords stored by
Internet Explorer browser. It supports the new version of Internet
Explorer 7.0, as well as older versions of Internet explorer, v4.0 - v6.0"...

It turns out that some/most Browsers (not sure which) can be attracted to reveal your "Remember my Password" etc. details by way of MalWare!!!

There is a FREEWARE proggie that can:

Display what it (and, of course, anyone else) knows about you...

Offer to Delete this information (be sure you know what you are doing here).

I found some 'old' entries in my Registry that I was more than pleased to Delete!!!

It's here (and a TINY download):

Web site: http://www.nirsoft.net

Hope this may help some of you :)

tjs.

Luckily I strictly avoid IE.

Firefox and SeaMonkey are my faves. 8-)

Yup, you are right.
Firefox is good, no doubt. But the popularity has its downsides. ;)

Chef,

How right can that be :)

It seems to follow that the more a program proves popular, the more it will become attacked!!

Terry.

Dumb people are worse than Malware IMO, their ignorance allows crap like password stealers, keyloggers etc to spread.

There should really be 2 internet's, one for dumb, ignorant people and one for all the nice people who can read.

The nice people decide, when they can access the internet with no worries but have to put up with dumb people using their access because their own access has been affected by nastiness.

Seriously, malware relies on dumb people to propogate.

Some of what you say is true nemesis01 but, and I like to consider myself as VERY security aware, the 'clever' people (however nasty - and not the 'script kiddies') keep finding new ways to attack systems so none of us can claim to be fully bullet-proof however hard we try...all we can do is try to stay on top of the situation.
