DVD-ROM, Riplock and some questions

Hey!

first I have to say, that I have no big experience with DVD-ROMs and DVD-Burners.

I have a big collection of self Burning TV-Movies, which I have record on TV. Finally I have burned many Video-DVD. Max. 4,7 GB (Verbatim). No DL.

Now I want to bring all my self burning DVDs on my PC like a big backup.

But, my both DVD-Device read max 5 MB/s....., it will be like x 4 Speed
Both Devices normaly read DVR-R with max 16
Look likes Riplock!?

So I now asking for a DVD-ROM, who is able to read self burning Video-DVD with max x 16. Average x 12 or so..

incorrect, original dvd will read at 16x, if that is the max of your dvdrom drive, what drives have you got?

not that many DVDROM drives that you can modify to gain 16x for DVD-R/+R. Liteon is one, obviously you can get combo's from sony/liteon that can also gain this speed. i'm sure other members can add more to the list
