| Excellent. Any Samsung dvd drive would do? No idea. I honestly can't remember. All I know is that it has to be RPC2. Maybe Backfire remembers when we tested this stuff. very nice, runs ok on vista too :wink: Only proves that SPTI is still supported. How nice of M$ that they didn't change this. |

| I've tried it with Ubuntu linux that I wanted to install for home server. Installation went fine, but then it wouldn't boot. It was a knowned bug in Virtualbox wich I as a non linux expert couldn't fix. So I switched to VMWare. Takes more RAM, but at least it works. I am sure VirtualBox will evole a... |

| DISCInfo was mainly written for displaying DVD locked/unlocked status. Soon after then Toshiba specific commands were added. So I consider it a Toshiba tool. NeroInfo Tools does everything else plus more, but no Toshiba commands. AFAIK only DISCInfo uses them. |

| OK. I've recheked all the firmware for this models. Not one is corrupted or incomplete. It's perfectly OK and with valid checksums. I have seen this problems many times before. It was due to corrupter calibration data inside the drive wich are unique for every drive. Somehow in some way the flashing... |

First do a Query. It will display your current region info. Then press Disable to disable the stupid counter. Then press Query wich should give you error saying your drive is RPC1.

| On Monday, 03 April 2006, our hard drive on the server got filled up to the last byte causing Apache to stop working wich lead to full website stop. After this problem was fixed we noticed a huge problems with the forum database. Lots of posts were missing and some part of the forum were not working... |

| I am not sure why you want to put layer break inside manualy. Changing the layer while playing is hardly noticing. Just leave it as default and try to burn. I see no point of changing the DVD structure just for the layer break. |
